コンセプト
生活や身体の循環を、都市の建築やショッピングモールにおける陳列と重ね合わせた作品。例えば生活する際に必要な日用品は、素材となる資源を加工して作られ、やがてまた別の用途や価値に作り替えられる。生活する私たちの身体も、活動と睡眠を繰り返しながら、体内の水分や血液が巡っている。都市はスクラップアンドビルドを繰り返しながらまるで巨大なDIYのように複雑な様相を呈する。生活とは、こうした多種多様なリズムの重なりであり、資源・資本と人間のリズムが交差する現象である。作品では、こうしたさまざまな位相でのリズムを基点に、陳列棚や建築構造、檻をイメージした構造物の中で、汚れた水を濾過しながら循環するチューブやさまざまな日用品、それを加工したもの、絵画、映像などが陳列される。
Concept
This work overlays the cycles of daily life and the human body with the displays found in urban architecture and shopping malls. For instance, the daily necessities we require for living are made by processing raw materials, and eventually they are transformed again into something else with a different purpose or value. Our bodies, as we live, also circulate fluids and blood internally while repeating cycles of activity and sleep. The city, through its constant scrap-and-build process, takes on a complex appearance, like a giant DIY project. Life is the overlapping of these diverse rhythms, a phenomenon where the rhythms of resources/capital intersect with those of humans. The work takes these rhythms across various phases as its starting point. Within structures evoking display shelves, architectural frameworks, and cages, it exhibits filtering tubes circulating dirty water, various daily necessities, processed versions of these items, paintings, and video works.
