身体はまずもって振動を媒介する管であること。スポットクーラーはダクトによって繋がれ、それぞれ冷風と気化熱による温風を排出する ( 口と肛門、腸 )。ミキサーやアンプはケーブルからケーブルへと電気信号をマッチポンプ的に増幅する ( 血管と心臓 )。スピーカーは送られてきた電気信号を自身の震わせることで空気を振動させ、音を発す る ( 肺 )。それらを構造として支えるパイプ ( 骨 )、私自身が振動を媒介する単位になろうとする演奏の映像を写すモ ニター ( 目 )、等々。身体を模倣としてではなく機能として組み立てる、そしてそれが音のノイズや風力によって失調しつつも表現として個々にに関わり、質的なかたちをなす。私は毎日この身体の配線や電源を整え、クー ラーに 溜まった水を排泄しながら管理をしている。つまり、メディアを器官化することで、それが振動によって作用し合う構造的な身体として成立したり、あるいは失調したりしようとする運動を留めようとした。三つの映像では、自身の 身体を振動する器官の集まり=物質として理解しようとするために、大量のエフェクターにつなぐことでノイズしか 発しないギターを弾く映像、メトロノームに合わせて打楽器を演奏する映像、そして重低音で響かせる呻き声を上げる映像がそれぞれ映されている。
The body is first of all a tube that mediates vibrations. Spot coolers are connected by ducts that exhaust cold air and warm air from vaporization heat, respectively (mouth and anus, intestines). Mixers and amplifiers match-pump electrical signals from cable to cable (blood vessels and heart). Speakers vibrate the air and produce sound by shaking the electrical signals sent to them (lungs). The pipes (bones) that support them as a structure, the monitors (eyes) that capture the image of the performance in which I myself try to become the unit that mediates the vibrations, and so on. The body is assembled not as an imitation, but as a function, and it takes on a qualitative form as individual expression, even though it is disoriented by the noise and wind force of sound. Every day I adjust the wiring and power supply of this body, and manage it while excreting the water that has accumulated in the cooler. In other words, by organizing the media, I attempted to arrest the movement of its formation or disintegration as a structural body that interacts with vibrations. In the three videos, the artist tries to understand his own body as a collection of vibrating organs (material). In one video, he plays a guitar that emits only noise by connecting it to a large amount of effectors; in another, he plays a percussion instrument to a metronome; and in the third, he moans with a heavy bass sound.
