このタイトルは哲学者であるモーリスメルロ=ポンティの著書から引用しています。モニターに映し出された目は私がこの絵を描いている際の目線を全て記録し、編集したものです。この眼差しは本来絵画に向けられたものですが、映し出された目はこの絵を観る側に向けられています。この目を交点として四つに分割された画面には、色彩の対比で構成された絵と網膜剥離のレントゲン写真が描かれており、そ れが荒くぼかされています。
The title is taken from a book by philosopher Maurice Merleau-Ponty. The eyes projected on the monitor are all the eyes I recorded and edited while I was painting this painting. This gaze was originally directed at the painting, but the projected eye is directed at the viewer of this painting. The four sections of the painting are composed of color contrasts and radiographs of detached retinas, which have been roughly blurred.
